El INAH informa que una de las estructuras mide más de 8 metros. Además se encontraron vestigios de la élite maya

México.- Este año, el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) descubrió seis pirámides mayas en cinco municipios del estado de Yucatán.

Según la dependencia dos de estas estructuras se ubican en la zona arqueológica de “Chaltún Ha” en el municipio de Izamal, y la principal de ellas, mide 8 metros de alto y 100 de largo.

La segunda más importante es Kulubá, en el municipio de Tizimín al oriente de Yucatán y tiene 50 metros de largo y 6 metros de alto. Las otras 4 son de menores dimensiones y permanecen ocultas entre la selva.

“El trabajo de restauración arquitectónica representó una exploración minuciosa e implicó un registro muy detallado de los elementos arquitectónicos que vamos a identificar y devolver esas piedras que se desplomaron a su lugar original”, explicó José Huchim, arqueólogo del INAH.
